28. James II HAMILTON 1st Earl of Arran was born between 1475 and 1477 in Scotland - son of Lord Hamilton. He Created with title of Earl of Arran in 1503 in Scotland. ⁽⁵⁾ He died in 1529 in Scotland - 1st Earl of Arran. He Created with title of Duke of Chatelherault in 1549 in France.

He was married to Janet BEATON (daughter of Sir David BEATON of Creich) in 1516. Janet BEATON died about 1522. James II HAMILTON 1st Earl of Arran and Janet BEATON had the following children:

+38 i. Baron James III HAMILTON 2nd Earl of Arran.
+39 ii. Gavin HAMILTON.
+40 iii. Helen HAMILTON of Menstrie.

He was married to Elizabeth HOME (daughter of Alexander HOME 2nd Lord Home) in 1490.
